Reverse Skin Aging with Laser Skin Resurfacing Treatment

If there was one pill that could keep you looking youthful indefinitely, would you or would you not take it? Duh!!! The answer is obvious, YES! Who would deny this boon? However, the harsh reality is, our skin ages with us. There has been a considerable demand for anti-ageing therapies since people want to remain eternally youthful.

There have been some advancements in laser technology realm that are effective in reversing the effects of ageing on the skin. This treatment is known as Laser skin resurfacing, which offers precise and accurate results.

A comprehensive anti-aging treatment that employs the use ablative and non-ablative treatments is known as Fotona TwinLight™ Fractional Rejuvenation. A non-ablative or skin resurfacing treatment using an Nd: YAG laser may produce different aesthetic results compared to an ablative treatment with an Er: YAG laser.

What is TwinLight™ Fractional Rejuvenation?

To enhance skin smoothness and provide a fresher, healthier appearance, TwinLight™ Fractional Rejuvenation is used. It is a gentle treatment that targets fine lines and wrinkles resulting in younger looking skin. Using fractional laser light the skin is rejuvenated, allowing for precise sculpting of the skin with a degree of control and efficacy.

Another term commonly used in skin resurfacing is Full- Field Skin Resurfacing. This is when the whole surface area of the skin is treated. This technique uses a laser beam to remove the outer layer of skin in the treated region. Following the procedure, a healthy fresh layer of skin replaces the excised damaged skin.

How does TwinLight™ Fractional Rejuvenation work?

TwinLight™ Fractional Rejuvenation is a treatment that works precisely on the area where skin ageing has occurred. So, you don’t have to worry about those laugh lines or wrinkled skin around the eye, this precise laser treatment will take care of it.

The three simple steps of Fractional Rejuvenation are:

STEP 1 – CONDITIONING  YAG beam passes the surface twice. The first pass is to provide a short stimulus while the second one penetrates the tissues. This penetration causes deep FRAC3 heating and conditioning of the skin.

STEP 2 FRACTIONAL THERAPY – Skin ablation takes place using fractional Er YAG laser. In this step, the precise micro-ablated channels are replaced with tighter and healthier tissues which is the basis of new skin forms.

STEP 3- PEELING – The skin is ablated with light full Er: YAG beam, this concludes the treatment and removes any superficial imperfections.
On the skin, the Er: YAG and Nd: YAG wavelengths have complementary effects. The Nd: YAG beam's deep heating helps to renew and stimulate the skin, while the Er: YAG beam aids in the formation of new, tighter skin.
Furthermore, Er: YAG lasers' capacity to resurface the skin with a customizable degree of coagulation has long been recognised as one of the best treatments.

Prior to Treatment

Every person wishing to be treated at Advanced Laser Clinic will require a consultation with our Laser Consultant prior to their first treatment.

At this appointment, we welcome all questions to advance your understanding of the treatment. There will be a consultation form to be completed about your health and medications to asses your eligibility for treatment.

A patch test will be performed on your skin to ensure the laser settings are suitable for you. If there are no reactions 24 hours after your patch test, we can commence your laser treatment.

Before laser therapy, it is very important that you keep your treated area away from sun exposure. Your skin needs to be protected from the sun for a minimum of two weeks before any treatment commences. This is crucial both before and after the treatment. The lasers work on providing a specific heat at a specific depth in your tissue to produce a desired end point. This end point can be exacerbated if exposed to sun and can cause unwanted side effects.
